Privacy Policy

AutoCookie has one privacy purpose: reducing unwanted cookies on the device by applying the user’s consent preference and cleaning cookies that are no longer in use.

Data processed locally

AutoCookie reads the page elements needed to recognize and handle consent banners. Its automatic cleanup also reads cookie metadata locally so it can delete a website’s cookies after its last open tab closes. Cookies remain when another open tab still needs them or the site is protected. AutoCookie does not collect, sell, or share personal data, and it does not transmit browsing history, URLs, domains, page content, cookie names, or cookie values.

The following remain in the extension’s local storage:

• global preference, exclusions, protected sites, and declarative rules;
• the latest result displayed in the popup, replaced by the next operation;
• optional aggregate statistics without a list of visited sites.

Cross-frame coordination uses temporary storage containing only operational state for the current tab. It is cleared when the tab closes, the browser restarts, or the extension reloads.

No transmission or third parties

AutoCookie has no backend and makes no requests to developer-operated services. It includes no analytics, telemetry, advertising, fingerprinting, trackers, CDN code, remote code, or runtime script downloads. No information is sold or shared with third parties.

User control

Users can choose between Autopilot and Strict privacy, protect selected sites from cookie cleanup, disable automatic cleanup, disable the extension globally or on a specific site, and reset all settings. Technical diagnostics are optional and disabled by default.

Debugging

Users may choose Report this site to review and open a prefilled email containing the current domain, browser family, AutoCookie version, selected mode, and technical result. Nothing is sent automatically. Cookie names and values, page content, complete URLs, and browsing history are excluded; the user decides whether to send the email.

Debug logging is disabled by default. The logger filters fields that suggest URLs, domains, or site names and never sends logs outside the device.
